Where is the studio located and where do I park?

  • Todi's historic center has limited street parking, but don't let that discourage you—we're easy to reach! There are two main parking lots and all options are just minutes away and give you a chance to arrive calm and centered for your practice. We recommend arriving 10-15 minutes early, especially if you're unfamiliar with the town. We are located at Via Mura Etrusche 5, a small street off Via Augusto Ciuffelli, the main road into Todi. From the Consolazione: We are past Giardino Oberdan on the left. From Piazza Jacopone: We are on the right side of Via Augusto Ciuffelli.

  • Consolazione Parking Lot (Free)
The easiest and free option is parking at Consolazione and then enjoying a scenic 10-minute walk up the hill with scenic views and through Todi's charming streets to reach the studio. If you prefer not to walk, there is the free local bus (Linea E) that runs frequently between Porta Orvietana, the Consolazione and Piazza Jacopone. The bus typically runs every 20 minutes throughout the day and stops directly at Consolazione lot, taking about 5-7 minutes to reach the center.

  • Porta Orvietana Parking Lot (Paid)
Another easy option is to park at the Porta Orvietana paid parking lot and take the funicular (Ascensore di Todi) OR the new elevator up to the historic center—an experience in itself! The funicular operates from 6:00 AM to 1:00 AM. The walk from the elevator to our studio is approximately 5 minutes. Alternatively, you can take the local bus (Linea E) from Porta Orvietana, which runs regularly and connects to the center in minutes.

What facilities does the studio have?

  • Elementyl provides a shared women’s and men’s changing room and a private bathroom for your convenience and comfort.

  • We provide all props needed for your yoga practice: 6mm yoga mats, blankets, blocks, straps, bolsters and eye pillows — everything needed is included in the price of the class.

How do I join a class?

  • Registration is easy! Simply visit our Schedule page, choose the class you’d like to attend, and click Book. You will be directed to our online scheduling system, Acuity, where you can quickly register and securely pay for your class. If you’d like more information about our packages, please visit our Pricing page for full details.

How should I prepare for class?

  • You should be hydrated before going into yoga practice. Drink plenty of water in the morning before class or throughout the day to keep your body well hydrated and feeling energized. We don’t drink water during class and ask that you leave your water bottle outside the class room..

  • We recommend that you refrain from eating large or heavy meals for up to two hours before the class to avoid discomfort. Asanas should be practiced on an empty stomach. If you must eat something before class, keep it light, such as fruit, nuts or yogurt.

  • Wear comfortable, light clothing that isn’t too flowy or loose so you can move freely without extra fabric getting in the way of your practice and that will help facilitate easy movement of the body. If you wear socks during your practice, we recommend grippy socks so you don’t slide on the mat.

  • Since the studio is in an old Umbrian wine cellar, it can feel a bit cold in winter. We recommend that you bring socks and a sweater or jacket to wear during cooler practices. We also provide heavy wool blankets to use as props or for warmth.

  • Classes are taught in English.

How often should you practice yoga each week?

  • To fully feel the deeply transformational benefits of a regular yoga practice, we recommend bringing yourself to the yoga mat at least two to three times per week. That being said, always listen to your body, tune into what it truly needs, and notice what feels best for you in each moment. Your yoga practice and its ideal frequency will be as individual and uniquely suited to you as you are.

  • Yoga should not be performed in a state of exhaustion, illness, in a hurry, or under stressful conditions. During illness, surgeries, sprains, fractures, one should refrain from practicing Vinyasa or Yang type yoga. You can resume after consulting experts.

  • It’s not recommended to do strenuous exercises, such as cardio or weight training after a strenuous yoga class, such as Vinyasa or Hatha.

I'm a beginner. May I participate in your classes?

  • Absolutely! We warmly welcome beginners! Bring an open attitude and a genuine willingness to dive into an abyss of something completely new — a gentle challenge to your familiar comfort zone that can lead to growth and discovery. We kindly suggest placing your yoga mat toward the back of the studio so you can observe others during moments that may feel unfamiliar; this can help you learn and feel more at ease. You will not know the names of poses and that is normal. You will learn over time.

  • Please rest whenever your body asks for it — pauses and modifications are part of the practice, including skipping Sun Salutations if needed. Move into Child’s pose or Corpse pose when you need a break.

  • You may feel some soreness and even fatigue after the first few classes, and that is completely normal. Your whole being is learning new skills, engaging muscles that may have been neglected, and releasing toxins held in your tissues.

  • Be patient with the process. Be kind to yourself. Be willing to give yourself the time and space to transform.
