Equal Light, Equal Dark

On 22 September, the Autumn Equinox brings light and darkness into balance, offering us a beautiful moment to pause before the season turns. Yoga teaches us that equanimity is not about remaining unchanged, but about meeting change with steadiness, curiosity and grace. As summer reaches its completion, we celebrate its abundance while making space for what comes next. Change is beautiful when we allow ourselves to move with it.

Root, Rise and Begin Again

Our practice explores balance in all its forms through Half Moon, Warrior III, Tree, Eagle and Standing Split. These poses ask us to root firmly while remaining responsive, reminding us that balance is never completely still.

As we honour Ganesha in the studio during Ganesh Chaturthi, we draw inspiration from his wisdom, grounded presence and ability to clear the path ahead. Each wobble becomes an opportunity to meet an obstacle with patience, adjust and begin again. Twists encourage us to release what no longer serves us, while Bow, Bridge and Camel open the heart to change and possibility. Sun Salutations connect us to the continuing rhythm of light, movement and renewal.

Practice, Celebrate and Pause

From 13 to 20 September, classes continue according to the normal schedule. There will be no class on Monday 21 September due to a private lesson held offsite. On Tuesday 22 September, join us at 18:30 for a special Autumn Equinox Vinyasa focused on equal light and darkness, balance and the beauty of change. The celebration continues with our Yin Yang practice on Wednesday 23 September at 10:00, where movement and stillness come together to honour the Equinox and the transition into autumn. Elementyl will then be closed from 24 to 30 September, giving us a little time to rest, reset and welcome the new season.
